Henry Hart Spalding (1839-1898), business owner and operator of Almota, WA, was the son of Henry Harmon Spalding (1803-1874) and Eliza Hart Spalding (1807-1851), pioneer missionaries in the Pacific Northwest. His sons, including Marcus W. Spalding (1897-1975) were actively engaged in various businesses in Almota.
This collection consists of records related to Spalding family businesses in Almota, WA. They include account books and banking and real estate documents. The account books reflect transactions in products and services including grain, produce, wood, general merchandise, blacksmithing, and shipping.
